Chrysler 300C: Big Cars are Not Out
Rising fuel costs and the global financial crisis may
have changed a lot of aspects of how people live on a daily basis. This includes how people choose their cars. The Chrysler 300C is a big car that is a big proof that big cars are not out.
The 300C signaled the return of the car manufacturer to the sedan rear wheel drive market. It conquered the market and became the top product of Chrysler.
The 300 follows the architecture of the Dodge Charger, Magnum, and Challenger all built in the same LX Platform of Chrysler. The LX platform is patterned after the architecture of the E Class of Mercedes released in 2002.
The power plant under the hood of the rear-wheel-drive 300 LX has an output of 178 horsepower at 5500 rpm for the 2.7L V6 version. At 4000 rpm, it has an excellent torque of 190 lb-ft.
The 3.5L V6 High Output
engine roars at 6400 rpm with 250 horse power. This is featured in the Touring and Limited versions of the Chrysler 300C.
There is also the 5.7L HEMI V8 that has 340 hp measured at 5000rpm. This release has a torque of 390 lb-ft at 4000 rpm. The engine for the HEMI is equipped with the MDS or Multi-displacement System which can give a 20% fuel savings as it turns off fuel uptake of four cylinders when the V8 power is not required.
The interior of the Chrysler 300 C was also renovated for style and comfort. It gets a new panel and soft to touch surfaces.
The car can be ordered and customized with a DVD based navigation guide, 20 GB hard drive for music, Sinus Entertainment system, and cruise control.
